Youth Worker Appreciation Dessert TONIGHT- Sept 2nd @ 7pm!
Carlton Together Cares has offered summer employment to local youth ages 12-20 since 1998.  Youth gain job experience through our Work Crew, Kids Camp, Cougar Club and other events. 

Jr. Aides: Ages 12-14 work under the direction of the CTC staff and work along side our Sr. Aides. Jr. Aides are rewarded for their work with gift certificates to local merchants.

Sr. Aides:  Ages 15 - 21 also work under the direction of the CTC Staff and are compensated through the CTC payroll system.



2009 – YOUTH WORK EXPERIENCE PROJECTS & PROGRAMS REPORT:

June 9, 2009 – August 29, 2009

 

       There were 61 different youth ages 12 to 20 years of age involved this summer in the
Youth Work Experience Program.

       These 61 youth put in over 5100 hours of work in this community in 3 months.

      It is the goal of this program to empower youth to make a difference in their family and community.

Pool Personnel – Est. Total Hours = 2950 (12 Lifeguards, 3 Cashiers & 2 Jr. Aides)

 

Ø      Kid’s Camp Aides – Total Hours = 420 ( 7 Sr. Aides and 14 Jr. Aides)

o       assisting with crafts and recreational activities in the upper park

 

Ø      Cafeteria Aides – Total Hours = 144  (2 Sr. Aide )

o       assisting with the School District’s Free Lunch Program

 

Ø      Summer Cougar Club Aides - Total Hours = 656 (9 Sr. Aides & 8 Jr. Aides)

o       assisted with childcare from 8am to 3pm, helping with games, crafts and swimming – Afternoon Jr. Aide for swimming only.

 

Ø      Work Crew (community service) – Total Hours = 528 (7 Sr. Aides and 13 Jr. Aides)

o       helping with the Community Garden at YCES and YCIS
o       helping Yamhill Basin Council with Lower Park trees

o       Weeding in Upper Park

o       Painting City Fire Hydrants

o       Upkeep of Aubrey’s Garden

 

 

Ø      Summer School – YCES– Total Hours = 192 (4 Sr. Aides)

o       Assist School District employees in classroom activities

 

 

Ø      Special Events – Total Hours = 250 (10 Sr. Aides and 10 Jr. Aides)

o       Helping at Carlton Fun Days, National Night Out, and Carlton’s Walk in the Park
